Afterimage / Architecture Second Opinion

Bring a proposed design, modernization plan, or vendor recommendation. Get an independent review of the assumptions and evidence behind one consequential technology decision.

Discuss a second opinion

This engagement starts with one decision and an agreed set of materials. It is useful when you have a proposal in hand and want to understand its risks, dependencies, and alternatives before committing.

Architecture choices.

Review the reasoning behind a proposed design, its system boundaries, and the dependencies that could change its fit.

Modernization direction.

Question what needs to change, what can remain, and whether the proposed sequence reflects the business constraints.

Vendor commitments.

Examine the technical assumptions behind a recommendation and identify evidence or clarification to request before proceeding.

Deliverables are agreed before work begins. The engagement centers on a focused assessment and a readout your team can use to move the decision forward.

A focused risk memo.

Assumptions, architecture risks, dependencies, and gaps in the evidence behind the proposal.

Prioritized questions.

Questions for your team or vendor, with the conditions and evidence that should shape the decision.

A recommendation and readout.

The tradeoffs connected to your business, with practical next steps for the team responsible for delivery.

Start with the decision you need to make, why it matters now, and what you want challenged. We can then agree which materials are relevant and how deeply to review them.

Business constraints.

Objectives, timing, dependencies, and the alternatives already considered.

Technical context.

A proposed diagram, system description, or vendor recommendation can help define scope. Share sensitive materials only after agreeing an appropriate exchange.

Questions before we begin

How is the scope kept focused?

One decision, an agreed set of materials, and a focused readout. Scope and deliverables are agreed before work begins. Implementation or deeper technical due diligence can be scoped separately.

Is this a security audit or certification?

No. Architecture risks can include security considerations, but a penetration test, compliance assessment, or certification requires its own specialist scope.

How are timing and fees determined?

After reviewing the decision, materials, and required depth. The site does not promise a fixed turnaround or a standard fee for every proposal.
